Referral FAQ

1. What is the annual fee for participating in the program?

The annual fee is $250.00, payable to the Broker each January. If you transfer or activate your license partway through the year, you will pay a prorated portion of the annual fee at that time.

2. How should I handle real estate leads?

You can refer real estate leads to any Active Agent of your choice. If you do not have an existing relationship with an Active Agent, Maryland Real Estate Referrals can assist in facilitating the referral. Once a referral is sent and accepted by the Active Agent, please notify the Broker and provide the signed referral form.

3. What is the compensation will I receive for closed referrals?

The industry standard referral fee is 25%, but you have the flexibility to set a different amount when referring a lead.

4. What fees are associated with leads generated?

A $500 flat fee is payable to the Broker for each lead generated that closes with a RE/MAX Ikon Agent.

A $750 flat fee is payable to the Broker for each lead generated that closed with a Non-RE/MAX Ikon Agent.

5. What are the requirements to maintain my real estate license?

You must maintain your real estate license in good standing with the Maryland Real Estate Commission. You are required to complete 15 hours of continuing education every two years as mandated by the Commission.
